Site Leader Description #1

Hey guys, it’s Kaylin and Harkiran, your Acadia park trip site leaders! We are both second years - Kaylin is a biochem major and Harkiran is a chemical engineering major. YAY women in stem! Kaylin went on the Joshua Tree trip last spring and had an amazing time (even when sleeping during the night in freezing cold temperatures :0). We are both looking forward to leading a trip to such a beautiful and culturally rich location. Can’t wait to meet y’all! :D

Trip Logistics

We will leave Saturday morning, March 2nd, and split the 16 hour drive into two days. We will be staying in an Airbnb in New Haven Connecticut the night of the 2nd. We then stay a total of five days with the last day being a full-day exploration of the park. We will then embark on the journey home on the 9th getting back on the 10th.

Participant Requirements

Just an excitement for the park and an overall enthusiasm for the trip. We will be in an Airbnb so you don’t have to worry about camping.

Service Activities

TBD! Mainly conservation work and working with native Wabanaki tribes.

Recreational Activities

Our favorite part... we are planning hiking, bonfires, ice-skating, exploring the town, and eating lots of yummy food!

Community/Area Background

We will be living in an Airbnb on the Schoodic Peninsula. It will be cold and we will go over all the gear we will need to bring to stay safe and warm.
